SCA Election Campaign 2014-2015

For my senior year, I stepped-up and ran for the Student Council President of GSIS. I had a vision for our GSIS community; I wanted it to be united and was confident I could complete that task, but also give the students a fun year. I made a campaign video in order to show my peers what kind of a person I am. I did this by asking some of my friends to take a video of themselves explaining what kind of a person I am, and why I was a good choice to become president of the GSIS community. Using this video, my intent was to portray my sincere love and caring for the GSIS community.  It was a great opportunity to reflect about myself and see what kind of a person I am.

Although I was not elected president, the failed election campaign encouraged me and it taught me to examine the many other options available to me.  Because of this, I think my failed attempt was a success for me regardless of that election’s outcome. Currently, my position is Treasurer, so I am still actively working for the GSIS student body. My four years as a Student Council member has developed my leadership skills and allowed me to build relationships with GSIS high school students that will last a lifetime.  These memories will last forever.
